Micaela Itona, J.D.

CANNABIS LEGAL ANALYST


Micaela Itona, J.D. is an accomplished legal professional with a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law with a Health Law concentration. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from The New Jersey Institute of Technology in Law, Technology, and Culture.

With a strong background in health law and compliance, Micaela brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the cannabis industry. Micaela has diverse legal experience and interned at prominent organizations such as Demant and Exiger, where she contributed to compliance and privacy initiatives. Most recently, she was a Law Clerk at Emerge Law Group, focusing on cannabis licensing and regulations.

Micaela's commitment to social justice is evident through her involvement in various expungement clinics. As a volunteer for Blaze Responsibly™️, she aids pro bono attorneys at monthly clinics that focus on helping people clear their criminal records of expungement-eligible offenses, including cannabis-related charges. Micaela is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA)’s Cannabis Law Committee and the Asian Pacific American Lawyers’ Association of New Jersey (APALA-NJ).

In her free time, she loves to see live music, try new coffee shops and restaurants, and visit art and science museums.
