FY26 COPS Technology and Equipment Grant
To develop and acquire effective law enforcement equipment, technologies, and interoperable communications that assist in responding to and preventing crime and expand the implementation of community policing.
Equipment funded under this program should meet any applicable requirements of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Office of Law Enforcement Standards.

NEA Grants for Arts Projects
Funds nonprofits and municipalities for projects that enable Americans throughout the nation to experience the arts, foster and celebrate America’s artistic heritage and cultural legacy, and benefit from arts education at all stages of life. Funding also supports arts and health programs, such as creative art therapies that advance the well-being of people and communities. There is a focus on the following: Arts Education, Challenge America, Dance, Design & Our Town, Folk & Traditional Arts, Literary Arts, Local Arts Agencies, Museums, Music, Opera, Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works, Theater & Musical Theater, Visual & Media Arts.
Funding Amount: $10,000 to $150,000

Historic Property Reinvestment Program
Provides tax credits to support the rehabilitation of qualified historic properties throughout New Jersey. Tax credits may be used for the restoration, redevelopment, and reuse of historic structures that meet program requirements, helping property owners and developers preserve historic assets while promoting economic development, community revitalization, and heritage tourism.
Funding Amount:
50% of the cost of rehabilitation up to a maximum of $8 million, for rehabilitation projects NOT located within a qualified incentive tract or a government-restricted municipality
60% of the cost of rehabilitation up to a maximum of $12 million, for rehabilitation projects located within a qualified incentive tract or a government-restricted municipality
45% of the cost of rehabilitation up to a maximum of $50 million for rehabilitation projects that include a transformative property
Award size is based on the cost of rehabilitation (eligible costs)

Reminder: Grants for Fire Departments
FEMA recently released three grant programs to help firefighters. All of them are due June 22, 2026.

Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program
Supports fire departments and other emergency medical services agencies. Funds can be used for personal protective equipment and emergency response vehicles. It can also fund health, wellness, and resiliency initiatives to prepare responders for incidents.
Funding Amount: Up to $9,000,000 per award ($291,600,000 in total funding)
Match: 5% for jurisdictions serving a population of 20,000 or fewer. 10% for population 20,000 to 1 million residents. 15% for over 1 million residents.

Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program
Supports fire departments and non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and other research-oriented institutions. Funds can be used for research, clinical studies focused on community fire prevention and firefighter safety, health, and well-being.
Funding Amount: Up to $1,500,000 ($32,400,000 in total funding)
Match: 5%

Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant Program
Supports fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations. Funds salaries for firefighters, enabling them to stay well-staffed. Funds can also be used to recruit and retain more people in the fire service.
