Nonprofit Security Grant Program

The Federal Emergency Management Agency's "Nonprofit Security Grant Program" funds projects that enhance the physical and cybersecurity capabilities of nonprofit organizations. The goal of this program is to safeguard the lives and property of the American people, supporting facilities that are at risk of terrorist or other extremist attacks. This program has two sources of funding for nonprofit organizations:

  1. Urban Area (NSGP-UA): This track provides funding to nonprofit organizations located in FY 2026-designated high-risk urban areas. Each NSGP-UA recipient will receive an allocation for nonprofit organizations within FY 2026.

  2. State (NSGP-S): This track provides funding to nonprofit organizations located outside of a FY 2026 designated high-risk urban area.

Funding Amount: 

  • Urban Area (NSGP-UA): $150,000,000 (in total award funding)

  • State (NSGP-S): $150,000,000 (in total award funding)

Match: Not Required

Port Security Grant Program

FEMA's "Port Security Grant Program" funds terrorism prevention, response, recovery, and mitigation at eligible ports. This is achieved through projects that implement local Area Maritime Transportation Security Plans and facility security plans among port authorities, facility operators, and state and local government agencies responsible for providing port security services, as well as by training public safety personnel.

Funding Amount: $18,000 to $3,500,000

Match: 25% (public sector and non-profit applicants); 50% (Private and for-profit applicants)

Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs' "Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities" grant program assists local governments in supporting local projects that: 

  1. Commence or expand recreation & leisure services for persons with disabilities.

  2. Improve the status of persons with disabilities as members of the total society. 

  3. Promote the least restrictive environment in providing recreation and leisure services for persons with disabilities. 

Funding Amount: $5,000 to $20,000 (Up to $35,000 for a project between multiple municipalities)

Match: 20%
