Outdoor Recreation Legacy Grant Program

The National Park Service “Outdoor Recreation Legacy Grant Program,” with pass-through funding through the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, provides funds for the acquisition or development of new parks or the substantial renovation of parks in low-income communities of at least 25,000 people. This program focuses on providing new or significantly improved nature-based parks in urban, disadvantaged communities that lack adequate access to walkable outdoor recreation. 

Funding Amount: $300,000 to $15,000,000

Match: 50%

Body Armor Replacement Fund

The NJ Office of the Attorney General “Body Armor Replacement Fund Grant Program” funds local law enforcement agencies to purchase body armor for their troopers, investigators, and other eligible officers. 

While this grant is typically submitted internally, please reach out to us if you need any help during the application process. 

Funding Amount: $3,476,000 in total, divided into a $500 minimum award and a pro rata share of the remaining available funds.

Nonprofit Security Grant Program

The NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness “Nonprofit Security Grant Program”  provides funds to nonprofits at the greatest risk of terrorist attacks. There are two grant funding opportunities: 

  • Security Personnel (Up to $20,000): Provides funds to hire federal, state, county, or municipal active law enforcement officers appointed or security officers registered at the applicant’s facility.

  • Target Hardening Equipment (Up to $100,000): Provides funding for the purchase and installation of security equipment on property owned or leased by the nonprofit organization. 

Funding Amount: $20,000 to $100,000, based on funding category 

Match: Not Required
