FY 2025 De-escalation and Crisis Response Training Program

This funding opportunity supports state, local, and tribal governments; law enforcement agencies; correctional facilities; probation and parole departments; and sheriff’s departments in developing, implementing, or expanding de-escalation and crisis response training programs. These programs will improve law enforcement responses to and outcomes for individuals in crisis who have behavioral health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DDs), physical disabilities, and/or traumatic brain injuries. The overall goal of this grant program is to equip law enforcement and correctional officers with tactical skills, strategies, and technology to effectively de-escalate and handle crises, enhance safety, and protect officer well-being.

FY 2026 Innovative Approaches to Literacy

This program supports high-quality literacy initiatives to improve reading and writing outcomes for children from birth through grade 12, particularly for underserved student populations, including investments in school libraries, early literacy, and family literacy programming. 

Funding Amount: $375,000 to $750,000.

New Jersey Forest Service Urban & Community Forestry Program (NJUCF) Stewardship Grants

This program assists local governments in urban forest maintenance, including tree pruning/maintenance and hazard tree removal. Specifically, this program helps municipalities maintain healthy, safe, and sustainable urban and community forests through professional tree care services. All grant activities must align with an approved Community Forestry Management Plan (CFMP) and be completed within a 2-year work period.

Funding Amount: $25,000 (ten awards will be given out)

Match: 25%

Match: 3:1 or 9:1 for small and impoverished communities
