Weekly Grant Round-Up

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Electric Vehicle Tourism grant program is open to local businesses and municipalities. This program reimburses applicants for electric vehicle charging infrastructure costs in "Tourism Areas." Eligible areas range from boardwalks, parks, overnight lodging, and any unique, tourist-bringing attractions within a municipality. Applicants can receive up to $5,000 in reimbursements for an eligible L2 Charger, and up to $50,000 in reimbursement for a Direct Current Fast Charger. The US DOJ's Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) School Violence Prevention Program has just opened! This program provides grants to local governments and their law enforcement agencies to improve security at schools. This program supports projects such as funding civilians to act as coordinators with law enforcement, training for local law enforcement officers, and purchasing and installing eligible safety technology. Applicants can request up to $500,000 in funding, with a 25% match, and applications are due on June 11, 2024. The Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Solutions' (COPS) "Hiring Program" funds local law enforcement agencies to hire additional officers so they can increase their community policing capacity and improve their crime prevention efforts. Applicants can apply for up to $6,250,000 for hiring and retaining additional officers, with a 25% match component. Applications for this program are due June 6, 2024. Monmouth Arts "Help Local Arts" Grant program funds nonprofit organizations for programs that serve the public and provide access to a variety of quality arts experiences throughout Monmouth County. This program has three types of grants: general operating support for arts organizations, "Special Project Support" (SPS) for all kinds of nonprofits, and Mini Grants for small and emerging organizations. Organizations can receive up to $10,000 in operating support, $5,000 for special project support (with a corresponding match), and $500 for mini-grants. Applications are due June 13, 2024.
