Weekly Grant Round-Up

Emerging Contaminants in Small or Disadvantaged Communities Grant program funding allocations have just been announced for FY2024. This investment will be allocated to States, who will use this funding for grants to pass to Small and Disadvantaged communities for clean drinking-water projects. Eligible projects include efforts that reduce the presence of harmful contaminants in public drinking water, programs to provide household water-testing, and technical assistance to evaluate emerging contaminant problems. For this funding round the Biden Administration is allocating $33,570,000 to be used in eligible projects in New Jersey. The Department of Justice's Community Oriented Policing Solutions' (COPS) "Hiring Program" funds local law enforcement agencies to hire additional officers, so they can increase their community policing capacity and improve their crime prevention efforts. Applicants can apply for up to $6,250,000 for hiring and retaining additional officers, with a 25% match component. Applications for this program are due June 6, 2024. The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) "Green Workforce Training Grant Challenge" program funds entities like community-based organizations, workforce training organizations, and labor unions for training programs in green economy industries in New Jersey. The "Economic Mobility focused on the Needs of the Community" program, offered by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, provides grants to organizations who are working to address the economic and social conditions that influence the health and stability of a community. This program prioritizes funding for organizations working in the following areas: "Affordable Housing", "Neighborhood Revitalization", and "Small Business Resiliency".
