New Jersey Violence Against Women Act Competitive Victim Services Grant Program

The NJ Department of Law and Public Safety has made funds available to nonprofit organizations to further the purposes of the STOP Violence Against Women Act. Funding will be used for projects that are designed to develop, expand, or strengthen victim services projects for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Funding priorities include projects providing essential services to underserved victims of violence against women.

The Calvin K. Kazanjian Economics Foundation Grant

The Calvin K. Kazanjian Economics Foundation makes funds available to nonprofit organizations for projects addressing financial education. Funding is intended to support projects and programs that enhance the teaching of economics and personal finance in a variety of venues that include, but are not limited to, schools, colleges, underserved communities, and congregations, to raise the level of economic literacy across the nation.

The Curtis & Edith Munson Foundation Grant

The Curtis & Edith Munson Foundation makes funds available to nonprofit organizations for natural resources conservation and management. Funding is intended to support initiatives that aim to protect the environment and conserve marine resources. General grants focus on the conservation of natural resources in eastern North America and the Caribbean Basin.

HUD Announces $21 Million in Jobs Plus Funding

The Department of Housing and Urban Development recently announced $21 million in funding for the Jobs Plus Program. The deadline to apply for this cycle of funding is October 27, 2025. A match contribution equivalent to at least 25% of the total amount requested is required, and award funding ranges from $1,600,000 to $3,700,000.

The Jobs Plus Program has three core components:

  • Employment-Related Services, which must be provided on-site and/or virtually, and must be available at no-cost to low-income and/or HUD assisted residents by employment partners as an in-kind match.

  • The Jobs Plus Financial/Rent Incentive must be made available for all the on-lease adults in the target development/project for the purpose of reducing the financial burden of the rent increasing due to Jobs Plus participants increasing their earned income.

  • Community Support for Work (CSW) is a core component of the Jobs Plus Program, which should include multiple intentional and complementary steps to develop resident/peers employment support falling into two main categories:

  1. Energizing existing community assets to build a self-sufficient community.

  2. Informal and non-traditional activities that support residents’ progress toward economic self-sufficiency.
