TRUIST FOUNDATION GRANT

The Truist Foundation's grant program supports innovative nonprofits that work with adults and align with the Foundation's key areas of focus: "building career pathways to economic mobility" and "strengthening small businesses." Example awards include funding for a new program launch, a curriculum to expand or strengthen an existing program, equipment to deliver a program, and capital needs.

Funding Amount: $5,000 minimum

NEXT NEW JERSEY PROGRAM – AI

The New Jersey Economic Development Agency's "Next New Jersey Program" offers tax credits for eligible businesses to help build and foster the state's fast-growing AI ecosystem. Awarded tax credits are offset against the business's state tax liability. Eligible AI-based businesses or divisions must be primarily engaged in the artificial intelligence industry or the large-scale artificial intelligence data center industry. Awarded tax credits are calculated based on the lesser of:

  • 0.1% of the eligible business's total capital investment multiplied by the number of new full-time jobs; or

  • 25% of the eligible business's total capital investment; or

  • $250 million.

HAZARDOUS DISCHARGE SITE REMEDIATION FUND (HDSRF)

The NJEDA's "Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund" (HDSRF) provides financing through loans and grants to businesses and municipalities performing remediation and cleanup work at contaminated and underutilized sites across the state. For municipalities, grants and loans can be used for preliminary assessments, site investigations, remedial investigations, and remedial actions. Eligible financing options through this program are:

  • Up to $500,000 in loans to private entities, and $2,000,000 in loans for public entities per calendar year.

  • Up to $3,000,000 in grants to municipal, county, and redevelopment authorities.

  • Up to an additional $2,000,000 to public entities for remediating a brownfield development area.

  • $10,000,000 available each year to cover 75% of remedial action costs for recreation, conservation, and renewable energy projects, or 50% of the costs for affordable housing projects.
