Safe Routes to School
The New Jersey Department of Transportation’s “Safe Routes to School Program” provides funding for projects that encourage children in grades K-12 to walk and bicycle to school. This program seeks to facilitate the development and implementation of projects and activities that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption, and air pollution in the vicinity of New Jersey's schools. Projects must be located within 2 miles of a school serving students in grades K-12. Funding will be available only for the construction of infrastructure projects, which may include the installation of sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, multi-use paths, traffic-calming measures, and other measures to ensure the ease and safety of children walking or biking to school.
Note: All applicants must participate in a one-on-one pre-application consultation with NJDOT Local Aid staff and the appropriate Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
Funding Amount: Approximately $21.1 million in total funding for 23 grants (based on the last funding round)

The USDOJ's Office on Violence Against Women's “Abuse Later in Life Program” supports projects that address abuse in later life, including domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, neglect, abandonment, economic abuse, or willful harm committed against victims who are 50 years of age or older. Eligible projects must include:
Training programs for justice system professionals and service providers to recognize and address instances of abuse.
Multidisciplinary collaborative community responses to victims of abuse.
Cross-training for professionals to better serve older survivors.
New or enhanced services for victims of abuse.
Funding Amount: $450,000 to $750,000

Consolidated Youth Grant Program
The "Consolidated Youth Grant Program" supports community-based efforts to develop or expand prevention, intervention, treatment, and response strategies addressing the needs of children and youth (ages 0-24) affected by domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking. Grant funds must be used for one or more of the following purposes:
Providing services to advocate for and respond to youth who are victims of domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking.
Assisting children and youth who are exposed to violence.
Assisting middle and high school students through education and other services related to violence.
Providing programs to engage men and youth in preventing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Security Improvements for Houses of Worship
The Bureau of Justice Assistance's "Enhancing Security Measures for Houses of Worship" program enhances security and law enforcement capabilities at faith-based institutions to prevent and respond to bias-motivated crimes. This program has two funding tracks:
"Faith-Based Institution Security Camera and Evidence", which helps faith-based institutions acquire professional-grade security camera systems. This track also provides funding for technical training for using the new equipment.
"House of Worship Law Enforcement Protection", which funds overtime costs for law enforcement officers to provide visible, uniformed security presence at houses of worship during services, events, and other high-risk periods.
Funding Amount: $200,000 (Faith-Based Institution Security Camera and Evidence); $150,000 (House of Worship Law Enforcement Protection)
