New Jersey Department of Corrections: Locally, Empowered, Accountable, and Determined (NJLEAD) Reentry Initiative: Category C: Innovative Reentry Cooperative Economic Empowerment
The NJ Department of Corrections (NJDOC) is seeking proposals that specify how municipal, county, or state entities, for-profit or nonprofit community-based organizations, or associations will utilize funds to implement innovative economic empowerment initiatives that enhance and improve the ability of formerly incarcerated individuals or incarcerated individuals within 364 days of release to achieve financial stability and independence.
This service area may include, but is not limited to, municipal government entities, for-profit and nonprofit community-based organizations, or associations that utilize funds to support strategies and programs to enhance the employability of individuals reintegrating into the community. Strategies such as enhancing entrepreneurial development, digital and financial literacy training, financial investment, debt management, value investment training, and other innovative cooperative economic empowerment opportunities will be considered.
Awardees can receive $50,000-$250,000 in grant funding with no required match. Applications are due May 25, 2025. More information can be found here.
OPPORTUNITIES FROM THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES
Celebrate America! Chairman's Grants in Honor of America's 250th Anniversary
The Celebrate America! program supports eligible organizations to undertake activities that honor the founding of the country and the principles of the Declaration of Independence. Projects should engage students and/or the public with important themes and events that reflect the country’s exceptionalism. NEH welcomes applications that include activities, including but not limited to:
Speakers, screenings, and discussion series
Community events and family programs
Exhibits (permanent or temporary), including interpretation
Meetings, conferences, and symposia
Professional development and training
Digital projects resulting in virtual exhibitions, web content, or virtual tours
Educational materials and curriculum development for K-12 and higher education purposes
Research leading to documentary films, exhibits, books, or other products that reach the general public
The maximum award amount is $25,000, which must be matched dollar for dollar by non-federal funds. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for projects beginning as early as August 1, 2025.

Preservation and Access Education and Training
This program supports projects that develop and implement educational programs for professionals who preserve and provide access to humanities collections. Such materials include but are not limited to moving image and sound recordings, archaeological artifacts, born-digital and digitized collections, rare books and manuscripts, archival records, material culture, and art. Advancing long-term access to these materials for scholars, students, and the public requires skilled professionals from varied backgrounds and communities working in organizations large and small.
The maximum award amount is $350,000, and the award period is up to three years (up to five years for programs that grant graduate degrees in art conservation). Applications are due June 17, 2025. More information is available here.
The American Legion Child Well-Being Foundation
The American Legion Foundation's foremost philanthropic priority is to contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual welfare of children and youth by aiding progress in the field of child welfare through research, studies, surveys, projects, or by supporting programs and activities benefiting the welfare of children and youth.
Grants must have the potential to help children nationally or at least in a large geographic area. Applications are due by July 15, 2025. More information can be found here.
