National Trust for Historic Preservation Grants

Grants from the Hart Family Fund for Small Towns are intended to encourage preservation at the local level by providing seed money for preservation projects in small towns with populations of 10,000 or less. These grants help stimulate public discussion, enable local groups to gain the technical expertise needed for particular projects, introduce the public to preservation concepts and techniques, and encourage financial participation by the private sector. This application is due May 1, 2025, and awards $2,500-$15,000 with a 1:1 match.

Grants from National Trust Preservation Funds (NTPF) are intended to encourage preservation at the local level by supporting ongoing preservation work and providing seed money for preservation projects. These grants help stimulate public discussion, enable local groups to gain the technical expertise needed for preservation projects, introduce the public to preservation concepts and techniques, and encourage financial participation by the private sector. A small grant at the right time can go a long way and is often the catalyst that inspires a community to take action on a preservation project. This grant is due June 2, 2025, and awards $2,500-$5,000 with a 1:1 match.

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection: The Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grants

The Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grants program (OSG) provides funding for the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure needs for combined sewer overflows (CSO), sanitary sewer overflows (SSO), and stormwater management. This is a pass-through grant that NJDEP received from the federal government.

This is a rolling grant opportunity with a $2 million cap on project costs. A match is required in some cases.

New Jersey Office of Economic Development: Small Business Improvement Grant

The Small Business Improvement Grant provides small businesses and nonprofits reimbursement for costs associated with building improvements or purchasing new furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Applicant must rent or own the facility being improved. 40% will be reserved for businesses and nonprofits located in Opportunity Zone eligible census tracts.

This grant supports 50% of eligible total project costs up to $50,000 for projects with a total cost of at least $5,000. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until funding is exhausted.

KaBOOM! Community-Built Playspace Grants

This is a partnership between an applicant’s community, KaBOOM, and one of KaBOOM’s dedicated funding partners. Applicants will lead a process that centers their community’s voices to design, plan, and build a new playspace to help fight playspace inequity. KaBOOM offers three types of playspaces to grant winners: playgrounds, adventure courses, and multi-sport courts.
