This Week in Grants
NJEDA–NJ Cool
The NJ Cool program is a $15 million pilot program launched by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) to provide financial assistance to commercial, industrial, and institutional building owners and tenants (including public properties) undertaking retrofit construction projects that reduce operating greenhouse gas emissions from existing buildings in State-designated Overburdened Community and Adjacent Community census blocks. Eligible project locations must fall within the blue or yellow shaded areas mapped on the Overburdened Communities tool or within the municipalities of Newark, Edison, and Atlantic City.
The NJEDA will provide grant awards for eligible hard construction costs from projects that upgrade building heating and cooling systems to less polluting alternatives, as well as implement other energy efficiency measures or on-site renewables.

Andrew W. Mellon Foundation - Presidential Initiatives
Mellon's signature Presidential Initiatives provide grants to nonprofit organizations and institutions for impactful projects in the arts and humanities. The program supports impact-oriented responses to complex challenges and offers funding for work that exemplifies Mellon's strategic direction and vision. Applicants can request funding through one of the following tracks:
Imagining Freedom: supports artistic and humanistic work that centers the voices and knowledge of people who have experienced the impacts of incarceration.
The Monuments Project: fund publicly oriented initiatives that are accessible to everyone and promote stories that are not already represented in commemorative spaces. While funds may support new monuments, memorials, and historic storytelling places, the projects they support take many forms. Some are permanent installations, but many are realized as ephemeral or temporary installations, programming and performances, or other nontraditional expressions of commemoration that expand our understanding of what a monument can be.
Award Amount: Reported a total of about $540 million awarded in 2024, about 650 grants
Match: Not required
Deadline: Rolling
