Safe Streets and Roads for All

This grant supports the planning, infrastructural, behavioral, and operational initiatives to prevent death and serious injury on roads and streets. Planning and demonstration grants are awarded for Action Plans (comprehensive safety action plans), plans to conduct safety planning to complete or enhance an existing Action plan, or to carry out demonstration activities safely. Implementation grants are awarded for implementing the projects and strategies of an Action plan within 5 years; this can include safety demonstration activities, supplemental safety planning, and project-level planning or design.

Funding Amount: $2,500,000 to $25,000,000 for Implementation Grants; $100,000 to $5,000,000 for Planning and Demonstration Grants

COPS Hiring (Forecast!)

The US Department of Justice's COPS Hiring Program furthers the COPS Office goal of advancing public safety by community policing through funding additional full-time law enforcement positions to meet community policing strategies. This grant aims to increase engagement in planned community partnerships, implement projects to analyze problems and change agency management, and increase capacity of agencies to engage in community policing activities.

School Violence Prevention Program (Forecast!)

The School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP_ grant provides funding to improve security at schools and on school grounds through a comprehensive approach to school safety with activities that fall within but are not limited to, one of the following areas: Coordination with local law enforcement, training for local law enforcement officers, placement and use of metal detectors, locks, lighting, acquisition and installation of technology for expedited notification during an emergency.
