Strategic Fundraising Consulting and Case Statement Development

CLIENT: Philadelphia Ecotherapy
PROJECT TIMELINE: December 2022 - January 2023
SCOPE OF SERVICES: Nonprofit Consulting | Communication and Outreach Strategy

Philadelphia Ecotherapy’s leadership team knows nature-based therapy is unique and valuable. Since 2020, its five therapists have walked the walk, delivering more than 1,000 hours of Ecotherapy sessions to more than 100 clients in Philadelphia. Other therapists are intrigued and drawn to the benefits but need formal training, comradery, and confidence to get started.

In response to the interest and need, the Philadelphia Ecotherapy team knew it was time to grow. They also knew that such growth would require thoughtful pursuit of funding and a solid foundation on which to tell their story.

In late 2022, The Aubrey Group’s team conducted exploratory research with Philadelphia Ecotherapy to better clarify its value proposition. We wrote and designed a four-page case statement to resonate with potential funders and a separate two-page insert outlining possible fundraising levels and corresponding impacts. Philadelphia Ecotherapy can now effectively share its mission and outline how varying funding levels will impact mental health services in the Greater Philadelphia service area. Sparked by The Aubrey Group’s efforts, Philadelphia Ecotherapy’s leadership was positioned to implement a fundraising strategy and formally build the campaign roadmap when the timing is right.

About the Client: Philadelphia Ecotherapy is a 501c3 nonprofit seeking to address all obstacles and support mental health workforce development through its robust therapist training. Its trainees — therapists in private practice and in group and agency settings — are able to confidently explain Ecotherapy to decision makers and insurance companies. They are able to integrate Ecotherapy sessions as a valuable supplement — not a substitute — for mainstream treatment modalities of in-office psychotherapy and online teletherapy.
