When the Bella Kind Foundation was created in 2023, The Aubrey Group assisted Bella Kind Foundation in a pro bono capacity to launch and bolster their organization. Our Nonprofit Development team assisted CEO Laura Giacobbe in forming the organization’s mission and vision statements, bylaws, and Board of Directors. After securing its 501(c)(3) status, The Aubrey Group shifted its focus to building Bella Kind’s internal capacity for grant seeking. As an essential first step, our team advised Bella Kind to adopt data collection practices and helped brainstorm various fundable programs. 

To set up Bella Kind for grant-seeking success, we prepared grant research reports detailing funding opportunities available to Bella Kind. Though grant writing was not our primary focus with the Bella Kind Foundation, we handled all aspects of submission for Bella Kind’s application to the Patina Foundation, for which it received a $10,000 grant award. 

Beyond the successful application, we helped develop Bella Kind’s “Ladies Empowerment Program,” which consisted of a cohort of young girls participating in a free mentorship and volunteer program. The Aubrey Group provided training for Bella Kind’s volunteers to research new grant opportunities and to develop future grant programs. Lastly, our team helped advise Bella Kind in maintaining its volunteer program and organizing its annual gala. The Aubrey Group feels fortunate to have been a part of the development of the Bella Kind Foundation and to be a small part of its impact on the young women of Rahway, NJ.

About the Client: The Bella Kind Foundation (“Bella Kind”) was founded in 2023 in honor of Anabella M. Giacobbe, a remarkable woman whose passion for community, love for children, and exemplary kindness have left an indelible mark on all who knew her and whose unwavering dedication to helping others and her genuine affection for young people inspired the creation of this foundation. Through various programs and initiatives, the Bella Kind Foundation aims to instill values of compassion, community service, and kindness in young ladies, ensuring that Anabella’s legacy continues to inspire and make a difference for generations to come.
