In 2024, Plastech Products tasked The Aubrey Group with conducting intensive grant opportunity research to help onshore their manufacturing. Their other funding priorities included qualifying & testing products, and B2B and B2C environmental education to inform other businesses and consumers of the existence of sustainable plastic alternatives.

The Aubrey Group specializes in finding grants for all organization types: Government entities, nonprofits, and for-profit organizations such as Plastech. While finding the right grant opportunities for for-profit organizations can be challenging, The Aubrey Group investigates all touchpoints of an organization that could use funding. Our team specializes in understanding our clients’ flexibility in what types of grants could work for them and how they can leverage their operations or network to expand the pool of eligible grants.

The Aubrey Group met with Plastech on numerous occasions to learn more about their logistics and potential locations where they would be willing to onshore their manufacturing. Their team shared where the majority of their source materials are procured from, and The Aubrey Group team narrowed our state grant research on these locations.

The Aubrey Group prepared a research report including grant opportunities and tax credits available federally, as well as various programs in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Iowa, California, Illinois, Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, Texas, and Wisconsin. After completing the report, our team met with Plastech to present our findings. After this meeting, we were tasked with preparing an updated report outlining the specific requirements for the programs that interested Plastech most.

Upon final assessment, Plastech selected the State of Illinois Business Attraction Prime Sites tax credit program to pursue. The Aubrey Group prepared a work plan and held a kickoff meeting, briefing the client on the first steps of completing the application and establishing a relationship with the program officer in Illinois.
