Having signed on in 2015, the City of Rahway is The Aubrey Group’s longest-standing client. The Aubrey Group has developed a comprehensive grants strategy to support the City’s impressive community and economic development goals. The Aubrey Group has researched grant opportunities, developed potential programs, and submitted funding requests on behalf of the City. Since 2023, The Aubrey Group has helped the City of Rahway obtain nearly $4 million in grant funding from federal, state, local, and private foundation sources and has helped administer over $3 million in grant funds for the City. 

A few examples of our grants consulting wins include:

• Inflation Reduction Act Urban Community Forestry Grant: US Department of Agriculture (USDA): The Aubrey Group handled all aspects of successful submission of a $1,000,000 grant to fund tree planting and hazardous plant removal in 2024, and continues to manage the administration of the grant.

• New Jersey Preservation Grant- Historic Site Management: In 2024, The Aubrey Group successfully assisted the City in applying for $35,250 to develop a preservation plan for 1670 Irving Street, which the City uses as a gallery space.

• NJACCHO Enhancing Local Public Health Infrastructure: NJ Association of County and City Health Officials: This grant was awarded to the City for $207,388 to assist the Rahway Department of Health with equipment and training needs in 2023.

• EPA Community Grants: Congressionally Directed Spending: The Aubrey Group helped the City secure $1,000,000 in FY2023 and $1,250,000 in FY2024 for Lead Service Line Replacements.

• New Jersey Office of the Attorney General Highway and Traffic Safety grants: The Aubrey Group has won nearly $50,000 for the Rahway Police Department to use in cracking down on drunk, distracted, and dangerous driving within the City.

• NJDCA ARP Firefighter Grants: $45,000 was awarded for new sets of turnout gear, gloves, hoods, helmets, and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus fit testing equipment.

• NJDCA Legislative Grant: Applied for and won $1,000,000 for the City in state Security Assistance funding towards the City’s CCTV camera project.

• Sustainable NJ: The Aubrey Group coordinated and submitted for Sustainable New Jersey Bronze Certification in under two weeks, successfully winning the City recognition for its environmental efforts.
